My wife and I competed at least 12 years of our lifes during the kyu and dan era our school name was Tiger and the Crane Self Defense School mid 70’s to late 80’s
I did breaking with boards and bricks with my forehead, fists, elbows, feet, palms & knife hand (this will be our kenpo hand sword A) I encourage our students to do breaking to build confidence but I also told them to remember that boards don’t hit back.

This is another photo blast from the past circa 1982-83. Thanks to my wife Sanjuanita Arellano for always taking the time to take pictures, besides being a Martial Artist herself this is another of her valuable contributions to the Martial Arts.
